TWO men from Berkshire, Jon McCann and Dom Onions, managed to beat every obstacle that came their way and cycle from London to Paris in three days.

The pair, who both work for local charity, Get Berkshire Active, took on the 300-mile challenge in order to raise money and enhance sporting opportunities for disabled people.

The weather conditions were terrible for the first two days. Cold temperatures, high speed winds and constant rain added an extra hurdle to the already challenging journey.

Onions said: “It’s great to have finally achieved the bike ride. It has been a huge commitment training for it. You really feel like you earn the donations.

“It was a very tough challenge for us but, once complete, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

“Jon and I had never really cycled before signing up back in March, so its really encouraging to show people what can be achieved with hard work and a lot of commitment.”

So far the pair have raised £1,000 and are hoping to double this amount with upcoming fundraising ideas.

Money that is raised will contribute to sports projects for disabled people.
