SLOUGH TOWN have been handed a home draw against Dartford in the FA Cup third qualifying round this season.

National League South club Dartford will travel to Arbour Park on October 1 [3pm] after the Rebels won 3-1 away at Cambridge City on Saturday.

Two goals from James Dobson and one from Gavin James gave Slough victory in the second qualifying round tie at Westwood Road.

And two-goal hero Dobson is delighted to be contributing to a team that is playing full of confidence and going from strength to strength.

"I feel I'm contributing to the team, but everyone is in it not just for themselves, but as a team and together," the midfielder told Rebels Radio.

"As long as I can set people up or score a few goals and get a win for the team, I'm happy to do it.

"I'm just taking each game as it comes along to be honest, but it's not just me, it is every other player. There's some serious competition in the squad now.

"It's just a case of keeping myself in the team and fighting for the shirt, but I'm delighted to be back and just happy all-round."

The win against Cambridge in the FA Cup was a third straight success for Slough away from home, and extends their winning streak to seven matches.

Dobson said: "The pitch wasn't fantastic compared to what we have been playing on, but it was a good week all-round.

"It has been tough but Jon [Underwood] and Neil [Baker] have been explaining to us all that we do have a good squad this season.

"We have rotated a couple of players and we've all played our part in the three games.

"If you said that [three wins] at the start of the week, we would definitely have taken it,.

"It's just really good that we got all of them and we're through to the next round of the FA Cup."

Slough return to action in the Southern Premier Division this Saturday when Biggleswade Town are the visitors to Arbour Park [3pm].

The Rebels will then host Leamington next Tuesday [7.45pm], Dartford in the FA Cup on October 1, and Ashford Town [Middx] in the Southern League Cup on October 4.
