REES Cornell insists that Daniel Gaut is in for a ‘short and sharp shock’ when the two rivals collide at the Atik in Windsor.

Cornell, 27, challenged Gaut on the PowerBox Promotions show on Sunday March 5 and explained there is no love lost between the two heavyweights.

“I don’t like him very much at all. He is a loudmouth, full of himself and he’s going to going to get a short, sharp shock,” Cornell, from Langley, told the Observer.

“He’s had two fights in Ultra White Collar Boxing, but that’s charity stuff. He’s never fought anyone like me, younger and his own weight, and I’m confident.

“Dan has been giving it the big one on Facebook saying how people have pulled out of fighting him. I offered him out into mixed martial arts but he said he’s a boxer and that’s fine with me.

“When I was younger I did a bit of mixed martial arts but I’ve been training three or four times a week with Denny Bulman and Rajesh Shama in his Wexham gym.

“I am getting back into it now that I’m back in the gym. It’s becoming routine again. I follow Denny and my company sponsors him so I know what these shows are all about.

“Whoever wins the fight gets a shot at the heavyweight title, and I’m fighting on a bill in Kent this August.”
