DENNY Bulman hopes to win a title for those that have helped him on his journey in boxing.

‘The Fridge’ Bulman, 27, began boxing in charity events before turning semi-professional with PowerBox Promotions.

He will take on Jeff Cohen for the class B light heavyweight title on the promotions show at Atik in Windsor on March 5.

The Langley resident knows it will be the toughest test of his short career, but he believes he will be fully prepared for the fight.

Bulman told the Observer: “This fight will be a lot harder but I have confidence in my training.

“I’ve seen a video of him so I know what I’m going in to. He looks pretty good and has been boxing for about 10 years.

“I’ve been boxing for about a year and a half so it will be a proper test and I will just have to do my best. I’m hoping for the best but feel pretty confident. I will just have to raise my game.

“To win would be a massive achievement to give back to the people that have helped me get this far.”

Bulman has had to lose around six kilos to make the weight but, having been unbeaten in four career fights, sees no reason to change his training regime.

“The training has been all good but a lot of running to make the weight,” he explained.

“It has been pretty difficult to lose the weight but I’m closing in on it now and hope to make it in the next two or three weeks.

“It was quite a lot to lose but I’ve pretty much done it myself, researching what best to eat and doing it all by the book.

“I’ve been training with my instructor – Rajnesh Sharma – doing stamina work and light sparring to avoid injury.

“I’m not doing anything different because it worked the last time, so why change it.”

Bulman would like to thank his sponsors SW Electrical Services, London Grounds and Property Maintenance, and Head Hvac & Building Solutions.

Tickets for the show start at £25 and can be purchased on the PowerBox Promotions website.
