STANLEE Wilson goes in search of payback when he clashes with Christian Evans on Saturday.
Wilson, 31, came close to beating Evans and taking his bare knuckle boxing world title in December.
The two rivals go toe to toe again in Wales, this time with 10oz gloves on, and though Wilson took the fight a short notice he is confident he will match Evans in the ring.
“The guy Christian was supposed to fight pulled out so the promoter asked me and there’s definitely a bit of payback on the cards,” Wilson told the Observer.
“Although he beat me in December I still think had the fight gone on a bit longer I would have won.
“There’s no love lost between us and we know each other’s gameplan. Boxing with gloves would suit Christian that bit more but I’m confident in my skills set.”
He added: “To be fair, I wasn’t due to fight until April so haven’t done any fight-specific training. I’ve just been ticking my body over, but I’m still fighting fit and ready for three, two minute rounds.
“Christian would be the favourite because he has had a full camp and I’ve only had 12 days notice, but everyone loves an underdog.”
“I would love to have support but no-one can take the punches for me.”
