LANGLEY GALAXY saw their much-anticipated Berks & Bucks Sunday Junior Cup semi-final postponed after an admin error by the county FA.
The Galaxy were due to host Newbury-based Kukui at Harvey Park on Sunday but the Berks & Bucks failed to confirm the tie, despite the two clubs already in agreement to play the match.
Langley manager Scott Bright bemoaned to the Observer: “The county FA didn’t send out an e-mail to both clubs but we assumed it would go ahead.
“We confirmed kit colours and everything else with Kukui but on Friday were told they could not field a team because they didn’t think it would go ahead. We had a phone conversation with them and they were happy with it but changed their minds two hours later.
“The county FA said it was their fault and allowed the game to be postponed.”
A new date for the semi-final has yet to be re-arranged.

Instead, Langley enjoyed an 8-0 win against the Saturday first team. Gary Ashton scored a hat-trick, Garret Pikulak bagged a brace, with Joe Watts, Sean Hill and Callum Hughes all also on target.
The Galaxy make the journey to Maidenhead Crown for a Tony Blay Memorial Trophy fourth round tie this Sunday (10.30am), and Bright insists there will be no excuses for not reaching the final this season.
He commented: “They are in our league but we’ve not played them yet so aren’t quite sure. We have heard conflicting views. Some say they’re well organised and others not, so we’re not sure what to expect to be truthful.
“That is the way we’ve been all season, just taking it for granted that the opponents are a good side and treating them seriously, playing to the best we can.
“There will be no excuses for not reaching the final.”
