ZUF ASGHAR believes Real Milan produced a professional performance to beat Langley Galaxy 4-2 in the Roy Lester Memorial Senior Trophy.

The two teams clashed the week before in the Bob Smith Trophy where Milan won in extra time, but the Premier Division leaders controlled the game much better this time around.

Milan assistant manager Asghar told the Observer: “Langley are in Division One but shouldn’t be. They really gave us a good game and it was a good test, but we broke them down eventually.

“We knew a lot more about them and, though conditions were not great again, they were better than last week and the game was easier to control.

“We played well and controlled the game from the beginning. Langley had their chances and moments but overall we had most of the play with good movement.

“The wind did not help, it was taking the ball all over the place, but we were in control and it didn’t look like Langley believed they could win.”

Man of the match Umar Riaz bagged his second hat-trick in as many matches against Langley while Calvin Morgan was also on target in the quarter-final win.

It could be a great season for Milan who are already through to the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup and Bob Smith Trophy finals while still unbeaten at the top of the Premier Division.

However, Asghar insists there is still a lot of football to be played and he is taking it one game at a time.

He said: “We want to win the Roy Lester cup for a third year running but have other games coming up before that, so there’s a lot to think about before then.

“We aim to win every cup competition we’re in. It’s nice to look back on in the record books.”

Commenting on their league position, Asghar said: "The league is definitely in our favour at the moment but there are still a lot of games to go.

"When the midweek games kick in you do not know what's going to happen.

"We will take each game as it comes and go into every one trying to win and take it from there.

Other teams might not have anything to play for so play more free and nick points off you.

"But, the closer you get yo silverware the more people want to play."
