UP-AND-COMING fighter Sultan Ahmed is very confident of a win ahead of his Blackbeard MMA super welterweight bout at the Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead on Saturday, writes Ryan Gibbs.

The 28-year-old will be facing off against Mohammed Jameel of K’s gym in Slough and he has been training vigorously in preparation.

Ahmed is an independent fighter and does not belong to a gym. He trains with Mark Marriott, a boxing coach from Windsor.

Ahmed told the Observer: “The training has gone really well.

“I feel decent and I have nothing to complain about.

“I’m definitely confident for a win. I’m gaining more experience with each fight. Regardless of the result I just want to improve.

“No matter win, loser or draw I am just happy to be in the ring.”
