CHALVEY Sports have won the Hellenic Division Two East title without having to kick a football on Saturday.

Sports were awarded the honour of champions when second-placed Flackwell Heath Reserves lost 4-3 at home to Oxford City Development.

It has been an incredible season for Chalvey, their first in the Hellenic League, and the title is a first league championship for the club in over 20 years.

Sports maintained their unbeaten league status with a 2-0 win against old foes Lynchpin at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday evening.

Lynchpin suffered an early blow when striker Dean Isernia was shown a straight red card for a stamp on Chalvey centre back Sean Robinson.

The home side took the lead after 24 minutes when Ayden Coomber raced on to a flicked header and drove the ball past the Lynchpin keeper.

Bryan Taylor kept his composure to double the advantage in the 39th minute, rounding the visiting stopper to slot the ball into the empty net.

Before the game, the Observer, caught up with Chalvey Sports Chairman, Scott Young.
