OVER 20 Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow (WSEH) athletes contested the UK Senior Athletic Championships in Birmingham at the weekend in the hope of grabbing a place in the team for the World Championships in London in August.

Three WSEH athletes made the grade, winning championship titles in the process.

Morgan Lake was perhaps the most prominent, winning the high jump on a new best of 1.96m, and just failing to set a new UK record of 1.98m.

She was joined as the podium topper by Shelayna Oskan-Clarke who won the 800m in two minutes 1.54 seconds (2:01.54) and Rachel Wallader wo took the shot title with her throw of 16.70m.

The best of the WSEH men was Jacob Paul who was second in the 400m hurdles in 49.66secs, which may yet get him selected for the World Championships.

THE WSEH boys travelled to Basingstoke on Sunday to contest the second match in their Alder Valley League series.

Gaps in the team, particularly throwing events, proved costly and the club were penalised further for being unable to provide qualified officials.

WSEH finished in fifth position with 531 points, behind match winners Reading (791) with Camberley (759) completing the podium placings.
