SLOUGH get the new Home Counties Premier Cricket League season under way with a visit to Upton Court Road from Horspath this Saturday (11.30am start).

Club chairman Bobby Sher will again captain the team this season with Slough looking to improve upon their seventh-placed finish in Division One last summer.

Horspath avoided relegation by just three points last term but did manage a winning draw at Slough in June before losing the return fixture in August.

Burnham finished bottom in Division One last season and have been relegated to the second tier of Home Counties cricket.

Fahad Raja has replaced Harveer Gandam as first team skipper at The Memorial Ground with his side set to begin with a trip to Great & Little Tew, who were also relegated last summer, on Saturday (11.30am).

Datchet finished in fourth position in Division Two last term but were in the promotion race for much of the season.

Andy Dick is the new first team captain with Amersham, who were one place behind in fifth position, set to visit the Wally Gage Memorial Ground this Saturday (11.30am).

There are a number of derbies to look forward to in Division One of the Thames Valley Cricket League this season including the match between North Maidenhead and Slough 2s, who won Division 2A and 2B respectively last summer, on Saturday (12.30pm).

Boyne Hill finished third in the top flight last term and host Cove, who were runners-up, while Cookham Dean welcome Reading, who were relegated from the Home Counties League.
