COOKHAM Dean remain top in Division One of the Thames Valley Cricket League after a 120-run win against Stoke Green on Saturday.

The Dean won the toss and elected to bat first at Ricketts Field, reaching 250 all out from 49.1 overs.

Overseas star and number eight Sahan Nanayakkare top-scored with 57, while Tom Fray (32) and Yasir Qureshi (24) put on 80 runs for the fifth wicket. Nadir Mehmood also chipped in with a useful 38 batting at number six.

Luqman Butt and Saud Ahmed led the Stoke bowling attack with figures of 3-49 and 3-44, while other wickets fell to Gagan Singh (1-43) and Irham Mughal (1-54).

The visitors were bowled out for just 120 after 36 overs in response having lost wickets at regular intervals. Karanpreet Singh top-scored with 33.

Nanayakkare stared with the ball after claiming his first five-wicket haul for Cookham. He took 5-22 from his 10 overs including the key wicket of Singh and was supported by Wasim Ahmed (3-39).

Cookham Dean make the short trip to Slough 2s this Saturday while Stoke Green, now second from bottom in the league table, host Boyne Hill.

North Maidenhead have dropped two places to six position in the table after a seven-wicket defeat at Gerrards Cross.

Division 2A champions last season, North Maidenhead won the toss and chose to bat first, making 233-5 from their allotted 50 overs.

Usman Ilyas was the star on show with an unbeaten 105 runs from 134 balls. His innings lasted 171 minutes and included 13 boundaries and six maximums. He also put on 101 runs for the second wicket with Majid Ashraf (37).

Jonathan Denning led the Gerrards Cross bowling attack with figures of 3-37, while other wickets fell to Joseph Bracey (1-34) and Richard Knudsen (1-52).

The home team secured the win when reaching 235-3 off 38 overs in response thanks to Andrew Morrison (78*) and Billy Hunt (48*) who put on 115 runs in an unbeaten fourth-wicket partnership.

Opener James Hammerton (17) and Daniel Hampton (59) added 70 for the third wicket, while Kamran Hafeez was the pick of the Maidenhead bowlers with 1-23.

North Maidenhead host Berkshire rivals Falkland at Summerleaze this Saturday.

Slough 2s also fell two positions in the table, this time to seventh place, after a 72 run defeat at Falkland.

The home team won the toss and elected to bat first, reaching 252-7 from their allotted 50 overs.

Falkland made a great start when openers Will Langmead (68) and Zafar Ali (47) put on 120 runs for the first wicket, before Antum Naqvi finished unbeaten on 58 batting at number five.

Naveed Akhtar was the best of the Slough bowlers with his 3-41, including the wickets of Langmead and Ali, while Wakas Ahmed claimed 2-28.

Slough were bowled out for 180 off 38.4 overs in response with Sulaiman Akhtar (36) the top scorer.
