EVERSLEY’s dream start to the Thames Valley League Division 2A season continued with a 221-run thrashing of Maidenhead & Bray at Cross Green on Saturday.

The table-topping Boars were asked to bat by the visitors after losing the toss, but after losing an early wicket, Tom Howorth (63) and James Magowan (70) steadied the ship.

South African Andrew Niblett (71) further boosted the momentum, and by the end of their 50 overs the home side had racked up an impressive 349-5.

Maidenhead & Bray were never in the hunt in their reply, with Gus Cloete claiming an impressive 5-37 as the visitors were shot out for just 128.

Windsor moved up to fourth position in the league table after a three-wicket victory away at Kew.

The home team won the toss and elected to bat first, reaching 248-9 from their allotted 50 overs.

Dave Ramsden top-scored with 76 and shared an 80-run partnership for the third wicket with Ashley Hubburt (33). Captain Lewis Abbott added a useful 32 batting at number seven.

Opening bowler Tom Hartridge was the pick of the Windsor bowling attack with figures of 3-39, backed up by Kai Ziemkendorf (3-60).

The visitors lost opening batsman Kristan Baumgartner for a duck, before Ben Harris (62) and Aussie Adam Weston (54) put on 96 runs for the second wicket.

Top scorer Vishal Nair (73) then joined Weston at the crease to take the reply to 185-3 and Windsor eventually secured the win at 249-7 with three overs to spare.

Kailas Kulkarni was the pick of the Kew bowlers with figures of 3-42, supported by Johnny Malpass (2-57).

Windsor travel to fifth in the table Marlow this Saturday.

Farnham Royal moved up to fourth position in Division 3A following their four-wicket win against Falkland 2s at Church Road.

The Royals won the toss and invited Falkland to bat first, the visitors reaching 218-9 from 45 overs.

Captain Graham Beal (55) and James Bloodworth (54) top scored, while Farnham bowler Harry Barton claimed 3-62 from his 10 overs.

The home team reached 219-6 from 43.3 overs for the win thanks to captain and opening batsman, Nigel Field (72), David Morgans (50) and Ian Pulsford (40).

Bloodworth was the pick of the Falkland bowlers with his 2-29.
