SIXTY-SIX teams, representing 23 clubs, warmed up for the new season by competing in FC Bracknell’s annual tournament at Farley Wood.

The Under 7s and U8s competed in a round-robin friendly league with all players going home with a memento.

The U9 cup competition was won by Spencer’s Wood Dragons, beating Bracknell Town on penalties in the final.

Loddon Sports Lions were the winners of the Plate event, defeating Eversley & California Eagles in the final.

At U10 level, there was an all-Binfield final with Tornadoes securing a 2-0 win over Rebels.

FC Bracknell Arrows emerged victorious in the Plate competition by beating Eversley & California Cannons in the semi-final and Bracknell Town Youth in the final, both on penalties.

With teams getting their first taste of nine-a-side football, the under-11s final was won by Whitegrove Eagles, beating Bracknell Town on penalties.

There was more joy for host club FC Bracknell in the U11 plate competition, remaining unbeaten in league games before beating Woodley Wanderers Leopards on penalties in the final.

The U11 final also went to penalties with Camberley Town Youth edging out FC Holyport in a shoot-out which went to sudden death.

Speaking on behalf of the organising club, Kevin Knight commented: “A big thank you to all the teams and volunteers who helped make the day a special one. The children clearly enjoyed their football which was our goal.”
