WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club B team are on course to defend their title as Soleus Mens Southern League Division One West champions this season.

The squad travelled to Portsmouth on Sunday to contest the third match of the summer and were totally dominant in extending their lead at the top of the table with a third win in a row.

With just one match remaining at home on July 4, the team is well set to make the Southern League finals in August and to defend their title.

WSEH recorded a total of 253 points for victory in Portsmouth, well clear of runners-up Newquay & Par (221) with Reading (192) back in third.

Team captain Andy Clements,<em> pictured above</em>, was awarded the man-of-the-match award following his outstanding win in the 400m hurdles with 53.7 seconds (secs).

Decathlete Peter Moreno demonstrated his speed by winning the 200m in 22.3 (secs). There was a second win for Clements in the 400m with a 50.0secs clocking.

The Moore twins flew the WSEH flag with Blake third in the 800m in a personal best of 2:04.01, and Adam similarly placed over 1,500m in 4:16.01.

Simon Millett was in good form in the 5,000m with his second place finish in 16:10.02. Moreno made his second appearance on the track to place second in the 110m hurdles in 15.0secs.

The long and triple jump events saw WSEH score maximum points as Dami Famikin was a winner of both with 5.94m and 13.60m.

David Walker finished third in the high jump with 1.93m. Nayvan Fernandez showed his versatility with a third in the pole vault with 2.50m.

Moreno made two appearances in the throwing events with wins in the shot (12.00m) and javelin (44.48m). More maximum points were accrued in the hammer from Mikki Finn (50.06m).

The best of the relays was the 4x100m where the squad of Bradley Tenuta, Walusiak, Clements and Moreno showed clean pairs of heels to the opposition in 44.5secs.
