OVER 80 WSEH Athletics Club stars contested the County Cross Country Championships over the weekend with medals won in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey.

The largest representation was in Maidenhead where WSEH had four individual winners and three silver or bronze awards, plus 20 team medals.

Jack Goddard stroke away with the Under-20 men’s title and Alex Barbour was a clear winner of the U20 ladies event, repeated by Amy Young (U15) and Becky Atkinson (vet ladies).

A silver award fell to Jasmine Young in the U13 race and bronze medals for Charlotte Firth in the senior ladies race, Meg Ormond in the U17 and Sam Hodgson in the U13 boys event.

The Bucks Championship gave more WSEH medal winners. Alex Goodall needed a sprint finish to win the senior men’s race to claim gold and Dominic MacDougall followed suit in the U15 boys event.

There was an individual bronze award for Katie Thompson in the U15 girls race and third place team medals for the U13 boys squad.

More medals were achieved by WSEH athletes at the Surrey Championships in Croydon.

Twins Blake and Adam Moore were always challenging for medals in the U20 men’s race with Blake picking up the silver award and Adam the bronze.
