SLOUGH Town FC suffered a second consecutive defeat for the first time since early December on Saturday.

After a heavy loss to Poole Town last week, The Rebels were beaten 2-0 in North Devon as Bideford scored twice in the first-half.

Slough have made a habit of scoring in the first minute of matches this season but this time they were on the receiving end.

Billy Tucker capitalised on a mistake from Reece Yorke and beat Rebels keeper Luke Williams after just 13 seconds.

Slough came close to levelling the scores when an Ed Smith chip rebound back off the post.

Rebels forward Scott Harris had the ball in the back of the net but his effort was ruled out for offside.

Despite having plenty of possession the away team lacked a cutting edge and were punished on the stroke of half-time.

Substitute Billy Jeffreys conceded a penalty as referee Mark Russell judged him to have handled a shot from close range.

Bideford captain Richard Groves stepped up and coolly slotted the ball past Williams in the 42nd minute.

Slough were denied another goal by the linesman’s flag in the second-half when Smith tucked home a loose ball.

Overall, The Rebels were restricted to very few clear chances and left The Sports Ground empty-handed.

Burnham FC remain in the Southern Premier Division relegation positions after a 2-1 defeat away at Truro City.

The match could not have started any worse for The Blues as Matt Wright gave Truro a third minute lead.

Wright charged down an attempted clearance from keeper Alex Lynch and walked the ball into an empty net.

Burnham were deservedly back on level terms when Adam Bernard converted a left-wing cross on 20 minutes.

Truro re-established the lead on the stroke of half-time as a low drive from Wright found the bottom corner.

The home team had the chance to extend their advantage when Issac Vassell was fouled inside the box.

However, the resulting penalty kick from Craig Duff flew over the crossbar in the 48th minute.
