SUKH Dhillon believes that Stoke Green Cricket Club will know where they stand in the Thames Valley League after their next four fixtures.

Stoke sit mid-table in Division One following a 72-run win against rivals Windsor on Saturday, but will have their credentials tested this month.

Dhillon is preparing his side for the trip to Wokingham this Saturday (1pm start) before tough games against Chesham, Kew and Cove in the coming weeks.

“We are about to play the four best teams and that will give us a better reflection on our position,” the Stoke skipper told the Observer. “It will be interesting to see where we are in the league after the next four matches.

“Last season our target was to stay in the league, and this season we have strengthened so want to finish as high as possible. Where we are now or higher would be great, but it could go either way.

“We probably should have won three out of four so far. We lost at Marlow but the Duckworth-Lewis method goes against you sometimes, so I didn’t lose too much sleep. We got set a tough target but it was a game we could have won.”

Dhillon added: “Wokingham will be our toughest test so far. They have strengthened over the winter so it will be interesting to see how we perform.

“We are not going in as favourites but that is when we perform at our best, so I hope it happens again.

“We know that we have got to play at our best and not put in a performance at about 50-60 per-cent.”
