A BELOW-PAR batting display cost Crowthorne & Crown Wood as they were thumped by 124 runs at home to Premier Division table-toppers Sulhamstead, writes Richard Ashton.

Muhammed Arshad (3-58) was the stand-out bowler for the Crows as they knocked Sully over for 218, captain Aaron Briggs top scoring with an unbeaten 63.

The hosts’ reply never got going after Doug Macdonald (4-6) ripped through the top order, and Marc Thompson picked up 3-26 with his off spin as CCW were skittled for just 94.

Rahim Khan blasted 75 from 62 balls as West Reading moved up to second with a four-wicket success at home to Welford Park.

Alex Hutchinson (58) and skipper Ben Myles (52) led the visitors to 206-7, but Khan and Zafar Ali (43no) took the champions to victory with more than 10 overs to spare.

Matt Hopper (5-7) decimated Berkshire County Sports as Peppard Stoke Row recorded an astonishing 10-wicket win.

Sam Fooks (3-23) and Will Atkinson (2-0) were also among the wickets as BCS were shot out for just 30, and PSR raced to victory in just five overs, the entire match lasting just 84 minutes.

Woodcote’s resurgence continued with a four-wicket success at Sandhurst.

Mark Pearson (5-33) and captain Ryan van Heerden (3-8) did the damage as the Camels were shot out for 99, and despite James Galpin’s 4-35, Woodcote reached 103-6 for a second straight win.

Kashif Maan (62) and Naveed Maan (50) helped Ruislip Victoria leapfrog Woodley and move off the foot of the table in their winning draw.

The Londoners totalled 243-7 despite Jordan Goddard taking 4-59 for Woodley, and the visitors could only reach 231-9 in reply – Anish Pandey (46), Goddard (43) and Zain Raja (41) the chief run-getters.

Emmbrook & Bearwood went top of Division One with a 122-run home success against Bradfield.

Andy Webb top scored with 85 for the Bears in their total of 216, Conrad Hall (3-38) and Nick Goodwin (3-51) the pick of the attack.

That total proved far too many for Bradfield, as Richard Cole (5-22) and Sean Woodward (4-30) dismantled them for only 104.

Ali Jalil (107) struck a superb century as Farley Hill secured a winning draw against former leaders Ibis Mapledurham.

Akheesh Khokhar (51) and Ross Ditchburn (48) were also among the runs as Farley posted 229-3, and despite Dave Drury’s unbeaten 50, Ibis could only get to 211-8.

Jason Doole scored 54 as Sulhamstead 2nds (154) beat Goring on Thames (101) by 53 runs, Ankush Jain routing the visitors with 6-27.

John Acland-Hood smashed a sensational 151 as Checkendon had the better of a draw with home side Peppard Stoke Row 2nds.

Captain Vikas Chib (57) and Matt Heslop (54) also helped themselves to half centuries as Checks racked up 301-9 before declaring after 43 overs.

However, they were unable to dismiss the home side as Dom Hall (42) and James Hern (41no) led PSR to 176-6.

Tinoi Christie basted 88 for Mortimer West End as they dominated a draw with basement boys West Reading 2nds.

Jason Searancke also chipped in with 80 as MWE closed on 268-6, but Osman Mahmood (85) and Hassan Arif (51) took Wests to 231-9, Christie (3-33) the pick of the attack.

Shinfield continue to set the pace at the top of Division Two with a 221-run trouncing of Hawley.

Noel Joseph (73) and Suneet Basra (51) helped the home side reach 267-9, and Hassan Safdar (5-18) and Prashant Ghandi (4-16) then dismantled Hawley for 46.

Ankush Ghandi struck a sensational 182 as second-placed Waltham St Lawrence had the better of their draw at home to Emmbrook & Bearwood 2nds.

Asif Ali also made 52 as the Saints clocked up a huge 329-6 before declaring after 41 overs, but Alex Cobb’s 80 and a gutsy last-wicket stand ensured Emmbrook secured the draw.

Owen Bye (53) and Curt Watts (50) led Earley (152-5) to a five-wickets success against Stratfield Turgis (148-8).

Manoj George made 50 and Ali Naeem took 4-56 to help Woodley 2nds (235-9) beat Twyford & Ruscombe (198) by 37 runs, Robin Thompson making 85 for the beaten side.

Julian O’Loughlin’s 68 guided Crowthorne & Crown Wood 2nds (154-5) to a five-wicket triumph at Warfield (153).

In Division Three, leaders West Reading 3rds (171-1) raced to a nine-wicket success at Ruislip Victoria 2nds (169). Jatinder Virk scored 68 for RV, but fine knocks from Fahad Raja (78no) and Saadat Khan (62no) sped Wests to victory in only 27.5 overs.

Parv Panesar hammered 114 to inspire Sandhurst 2nds to a convincing 141-run victory at Bradfield 2nds.

Doug Seeburg also made 56 as the Camels declared on 278-4 after 42 overs, and Mark Clapham (4-18) and Calvin Hall (4-22) then knocked the hosts over for 137.

Rob Hill took 4-38 to set up victory for Welford Park 2nds (184-6) against Mortimer (183). Henderson Alleyne top scored with 55 in the run chase.

Peppard Stoke Row 3rds conceded their game at Knowl Hill.

Division Four table-toppers Shinfield 2nds cruised to a 256-run drubbing of Emmbrook & Bearwood 3rds.

Liam Prowse (88) top scored in Shinfield’s 318-7 declared after 40 overs.

Mark Wheeler’s 69 helped Mortimer West End 2nds (244-5) to a 25-run victory against Binfield 3rds (219).

Bill Macdonald took 5-36 as Sulhamstead 3rds (170-3) eased to a seven-wicket success at Crowthorne & Crown Wood 3rds, Madhur Sharma (64no) controlling the run chase.

Rifas Azees smacked 70 to ignite Purley-on-Thames 3rds’ (236-7) 82-run triumph against Falkland Development in the Bye Week Challenge.
