Bobby Sher on his way to 75 not out.
ANOTHER fine knock from skipper Bobby Sher ensured Slough avoided defeat but that first win remains elusive.
Having restricted Banbury to 205-6, Slough then failed to stay up with the run rate as they finished on 184-5 with Sher unbeaten on 75.
Slough made a fantastic start after inserting their visitors with Raheel Zaman removing Christopher Smith for a duck.
When Ian Tew departed for 25, bowled by Sher, that triggered a mini collapse as Banbury lost five quick wickets. The captain claimed two more victims as he finished with 3-73 with Rishi Sharath (2-46) also coming to the party.
However, the hosts could not press home their advantage as Shahbaz Ali repaired the damage, hitting an unbeaten 82, with Anthony Bullick who made 54 not out. The pair shared an unbroken century stand to set a target of 206 for victory.
Slough lost Shaan Khan and Zaman early as they were 26-2 with Bullick (3-25) striking and he had more joy to have Gheyas Khan caught by Ian Hawtin for 25.
New man, Vinod Chanwitya showed a glimpse of what he is capable of with a quickfire 27 but the Upton Court Park side were soon in trouble, just like their visitors were earlier in the day, at 81-5.
Sher made 75 from 120 balls and received good support from Shazad Rana who finished on 37 not out as they comfortably played out for the draw.
