Bobby Sher
BOBBY Sher"s highest score of the Home Counties Premier League season has put him top of the averages.
The Slough lynch pin hit 137 as they came close to their first win of the summer against Oxford on Saturday but unfortunately it was in vain.
The previous week Sher ended unbeaten on 75 and also has a 110 and 79 not out to his name this campaign, which is way he heads the Home Counties League batting averages.
He has notched 484 runs at an impressive average of 80.67 and his 137 is the third highest score of the season in Division to date. However, the skipper would be delighted to swap that for some wins on the board.
'All I can do is carry on trying my best and working hard,' Sher said. 'We are playing a lot of cricket at the moment and it is going well for me.
'Personally I would rather we were getting wins though, I would rather get a nought every week and have the team winning games, I would swap that all the time until the end of the season.'
Slough travel to Welwyn Garden City tomorrow (Saturday) who are just one place and 16 points above them in the table but a victory soon, especially over one of their relegation rivals, would help reel in the cluster of midtable teams that are above them as only 25 points separates third place High Wycombe from third from bottom Welwyn.
