RICHARD Logan will not be returning to Berkshire CCC this summer as he has accepted a coaching role in Dubai.

Logan was the club’s professional last season with great success and director of cricket Danny Hall said no decision has yet been made about a possible replacement.

The county held their annual meeting at the Holiday Inn in Padworth recently where it was announced that chairman Cecil Fright is retiring from the role and Neil Doody will be appointed his successor at the April board meeting.

Bjorn Mordt was elected as vice-president in recognition of his successful reign as first-team captain from 2007 to 2012.

Treasurer Graham Fyffe reported that Berkshire had incurred a loss of £14,529 in the last financial year.

He said the board are ‘very concerned’ about this deficit and ‘are taking active steps to ensure that all costs over our activities are strictly monitored’.

Despite the loss, the county have no intention of cutting back on any of their programmes.

In an effort to boost their income, they are looking to appoint a commercial director in the next couple of months.

Berks enjoyed a successful season in 2013 as they won the MCCA Trophy and the women’s team reached the national T20 finals day.

The Under 15s won their group in the ECB National Championship and there was a minimum 60% win rate in all squads. In addition, over 100 teachers trained in delivering cricket in schools and 98 coaches attended training and development.
