JOHN Thirkell has declared his pride in Langley Football Club after a potential league and cup-winning season.
Langley suffered defeat in the Slough Town Senior Cup final, losing 4-1 to three-time winners Thame Rangers on Good Friday.
However, they are on course to win the East Berkshire Premier Division title and have a League Cup semi-finals tie this Saturday.
Langley boss Thirkell told the Observer: “We’re doing fairly well at the minute and I’m really enjoying it.
“We deserve to win the league because we’ve played well all season and are very strong, doing things right.
“The team has been run in a very professional way and players are training every week. Five players have become commanding leaders because of the discipline we have now.
“The sort of football we play gets a lot of respect from others and I’m really proud of the lads to do what they have done so far, but I have a lot of respect for Delaford, they knock the ball around well.”
