IF YOU want to know how South Americans have masterminded the art of football now is your chance through a special Brazilian soccer academy in Langley on May 31.

Tetra Brazil is holding a free open evening event at Langley Academy for youngsters to experience the true essence of total football, samba-style.

Under the guidance of former Margate and Leatherhead footballer Adam Cash, along with ex-Brentford, Oxford United and Crawley Town defender David Hunt, players will gain an insight into the flair and possession of Brazilian football.

Those registered for the free event will also get the opportunity to meet and rub shoulders with teenage football sensation Matty Cash, who was reportedly the subject of a multi-million pound move from Nottingham Forest to Premier League champions Chelsea last season.

The inspired Championship midfielder will be on hand to pass on his footballing knowledge and expertise in a bid to hone the talents of more budding young footballers in east Berkshire.

The free coaching session is open to boys and girls of mixed abilities aged between 7-18 years old.

It has been designed to give youngsters a taste of modern day coaching techniques, which have been synonymous with South America for decades.

“Brazil has always had the ability for producing top class players, which have gone on to perform at the highest level all over the world,” explained Adam Cash.

“Both Matty and I followed a lot of Brazilian football when we were growing up in Langley.

"Since then, Matty has of course gone on to establish himself as a regular Championship footballer at the age of 19, whereas I decided to actively pursue a coaching path.

“The British game is known for its pace and intensity, which is different to how football is played in South America. It’s arguably some of the best and most attractive football you will see anywhere.

“The drill techniques that we use enable players to mix it up a bit – to play possession, but penetrating football.

“The training opens players to different styles and patterns of play to broaden their skillset and footwork.

"It fine-tunes aspects of their game, which encourages them to play with more flair and confidence.

“It’s nice to be able to give something back to the community. And with David's expertise too - someone who has made over 400 appearances in The Football League - there will be plenty of footballing talent on show to help players take their game to the next level."

The back-to-back coaching sessions will take place at Langley Academy between 6pm - 7pm (under-10s) and 7pm - 8pm (11+).

Players will need to bring the appropriate footwear for an artificial (3G) playing surface, shin pads and plenty to drink.
