A TRIP to the league leaders awaits Burnham on New Year's Day as they travel to AFC Totton.

The Blues will go to Testwood Park looking to cause an upset and with the added firepower of Richard Witt and Gavin James having had an extra game under their belts have the ability to do just that.

Attacking midfielder Witt has been signed from Didcot Town and striker Gavin James is on a month's loan from Maidenhead United - both impressed on their Southern League debuts for Burnham.

Manager Carl Taylor was also able to welcome back Dan Willment during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Andover, which was a bonus, plus the unexpected early return of Ryan Bird who limped off against Windsor & Eton a week earlier.

"It will be a nice test at Totton," said Taylor. "They will expect to beat us pretty easily but we've just got to go there and try as hard as normal. There was nothing wrong with the desire last game."
