BURNHAM slipped to their third consecutive defeat as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Windsor & Eton on Saturday.

Of the two local rivals, the Royalists had more to play for and it showed.

In a poor first half Ben Hudell fired just wide for the hosts before Steve Butler missed with two good chances.

After the break a Matt Seedel penalty and a header from Ashley Vine secured the points as the Blues never really threatened with a Glen Harris free-kick well held by Rob Bullivant late on.

Boss Carl Taylor remarked: "They are finding it very difficult to just get out of the little trap they've got themselves into but they've got to learn.

"Windsor have got something to play for and were always going to be a little bit sharper. The players are not going out there deliberately not to perform.

"Bishops Cleeve was the performance that put them back a little bit, players will be leaving after that. They've got a semi-final still to come (in the Wycombe Senior Cup against Holmer Green) but it's after the season ends.

"I don't want to be too hard on them, ultimately when I came in it was about staying up which they have done."
