Steve Bateman

STEVE Bateman has added more quality to his squad that he knows well having worked with the players previously.

Goalkeeper Ian Brown has joined from Hemel Hempstead Town to the delight of the boss and attacking midfielder Paul Edgeworth also joins from the same club as does left winger Chris Herron.

Central defender Steve Jackman signed from Bedford Town and prolific striker Gary Sippetts has signed from Chesham United.

"There's a new permanent manager in at Hemel, it's all change and we have taken advantage of it," remarked Bateman.

"We needed to finalise what division we were in and the Midlands switch has helped. The boys are based in the heart of the that league. In addition to those that I signed last year and with the ones that are already here they can see a side with anumber of good players.

"It was an easy sell really. They've been prepared to compromise in expenses as we are in a lower league because they can see the vision for the club and that Slough is a big club."

See Friday's Observer for more on the new additions to the Rebels squad.
