SLOUGH Town manager Steve Bateman insists his side will maintain the same mindset going into the final part of the season.
The Rebels bounced back from back-to-back defeats to Chesham United in the Berks & Berks Senior Cup and Aylesbury in Southern Division One to register a comfortable victory against Chertsey Town on Saturday.
The Rebels boss said: "It was comfortable, we got back to doing what we normally do which is playing within ourselves and keeping clean sheets.
"Chertsey had been through a difficult time with their old manager now the owner of Farnborough.
"They are a difficult side to overcome but certainly are not whipping boys because they followed the defeat with a 3-0 win at AFC Hayes on Tuesday night."
St Neots are still three points behind Slough but have two games in hand over their rivals, one of which is against Bedworth United on Tuesday.
"St Neots have got the lead down to three points but if we can maintain that distance between us, they travel to Bedworth after and something has got to give there," added Bateman.
"We have got to approach our last 14 games with the same attitude and mindset as all the others.
"We have got to look after our own results in this division."
The Rebels host struggling North Greenford United at Holloways Park on Saturday (3pm ko) but Bateman knows that it can be just as hard to play teams at the bottom of the league than the top.
He said: "North Greenford are scrapping for their lives at the moment and have had a recent change in manager with Neil Shipperly coming in.
"I am not expecting an easy game. They will want to put points on the board and we don't want them to do it at our expense."
The Rebels supremo is certainly not resting on his laurels and is still keen to bolster his squad before the end of the season.
"We are having a look round and pursuing a couple of options at the moment," he admitted. "I've been watching games and looking at one or two.
"We've made a formal approach to a club for a player higher up the pyramid that I've been keeping tabs on after he alerted us to the fact he wanted to do something different."
Meanwhile Danny Murphy could be back in contention within two weeks after taking cortisone injections.
