SLOUGH Town FC ended the month of March with a vital 2-1 win against Royston Town on Saturday.

Rebels joint-boss Jon Underwood challenged his side to beat Royston and take a giant leap toward the Division One Central play-offs.

Slough responded by recovering from falling a goal behind to see off The Crows at Holloways Park, their third consecutive win, leaving them in third position.

Royston struck first on five minutes when Reece Dobson found space on the right and picked out an unmarked Ryan Ingrey in the penalty area, who headed past keeper Jake Somerville.

Slough drew level on 10 minutes through a superb Warren Harris half-volley from 20-yards which appeared to catch Nick Thompson by surprise as it flew past him and nestled in the bottom corner.

The Rebels upped the tempo and heaped pressure on the Royston in the second half, and on 67 minutes they took the lead when a James Dobson cross was inch-perfect for Warren to head the ball down past Thompson.

Slough survived late pressure from a good Crows side and held on to claim a massive three points ahead of an equally tough match at Barton Rovers on Thursday (7.45pm ko).

The lively Owens made it 2-1 in the 86th minute and O’Regan added a third Beaconsfield goal seconds later to secure the points.

Leighton pulled one back as Dom Marsala dispatched a penalty in the second minute of time added on, but credit went to manager Gary Meakin for the tactical changes.
