IVER Heath Rovers FC hope to avoid relegation from the East Berkshire Premier this season.

Having finished in third place in Division One, Rovers were awarded a surprise promotion in the summer.

Speaking exclusively to the Observer, Rovers secretary Ricky Aldridge says the club are looking forward to the top-flight challenge.

He said: “It’s all hands on deck at the moment but the first team have got a good little side.

“We’re looking forward to the Premier and the first team will be all right, they should do quite well.

“I’m not saying they’ll take it by storm, but stabilise and maybe do well in couple of the cups.

“We’re most definitely stronger and, without being too confident, possibly finish mid-table at least.” **PICK up a copy of the Observer, out now, for all the latest sports news and action including our exclusive East Berkshire League preview** **FOLLOW the Observer on Twitter at @Observer_sports**
