SLOUGH Town FC began the new Southern Premier Division season with a 2-0 win at rival club Burnham on Saturday.

Second-half goals from forward Johnnie Dyer and substitute Jake Parsons helped the Rebels secure victory at The Gore.

Dyer broke the deadlock on 63 minutes as he raced onto a through ball and calmly lobbed Burnham goalkeeper James Reading.

Parsons secured the points when he fired into an empty net in the third minute of time added on.

Rebels joint-boss Jon Underwood tweeted: “Have no doubt we will improve but delighted to start with a win and a clean sheet.” Slough are due to travel to former Football League club Hereford United on Tuesday (7.45pm ko).

Their first home game of the new season takes place this Saturday with Banbury United the visitors (3pm).

Burnham clash with Dorchester Town at The Gore on Tuesday (7.45pm). They then go to Dunstable Town on Saturday (3pm).

Two goals from debutant Dave Tarpey saw Maidenhead United begin with a 2-1 win against Sutton United on Saturday.

The Magpies opened the scoring on 22 minutes as Tarpey beat keeper Tom Lovelock from the left-hand side of the box.

Sutton drew level in the Conference South fixture after 61 minutes when Jessy Rheindorf rolled the ball into an empty net.

Maidenhead restored their lead and took the win six minutes from time. Tarpey finished with aplomb after good work from Reece Tison-Lascaris.

The Magpies travel to Bishops Stortford this Saturday (3pm), and then Gosport Borough next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Windsor suffered defeat in their first away match of the new season, going down 2-1 at Colliers Wood United on Saturday.

Kane Jones opened the scoring after 31 minutes of the Combined Counties Premier fixture at Wibbandune Sports Ground.

Colliers Wood levelled through Darren Caeser on 39 minutes. The same player bagged the winner four minutes into the second period.

Windsor return to Stag Meadow on Tuesday (7.45pm) for the visit of Frimley Green.

They travel to Hellenic Premier outfit Briscombe & Thrupp in the FA Cup extra preliminary round this Saturday (3pm).

Holyport suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat at Kidlington in the opening fixture of the new Hellenic Premier season.

Goals from Charlie Cassettari and a Ryan Curtin brace, including a penalty, saw Kidlington into a clear half-time lead.

The home side secured the win with further goals from Lewis Coyle and Cassettari in the second period.

Holyport welcome Highmoor Ibis to Summerleaze for a league fixture on Tuesday (7.45pm).

On Sunday, Holyport host Abingdon United in the FA Cup extra preliminary round (1pm ko).
