SLOUGH Town supporters held a red card protest during their 2-1 win against Banbury United on Saturday.

The protest was originally held during an FA Cup fixture against Walsall 10 years ago.

It was designed to ask Slough Borough Council (SBC) to help the football club find a new home in Slough.

However, despite all of the projects, work, and time and money spent, it is now 12 seasons since The Rebels left Wexham Park.

And although SBC gave assurances that they would help, Slough Town remain homeless.

With the agreement over the Arbour Vale site between SBC and the Department of Education, supporters took the opportunity to remind the council of their pledge to the club.

The fans sang ‘all we want is a football ground in Slough’, while holding up red cards, each printed with a message.

The message reads: “We would like to remind Slough Borough Council of the commitment it made seven years ago to help Slough Town FC return home to Slough.

“It is NOW time to deliver on this promise.” Supporters have been asked to post the red cards to their local councillor to ensure that the club, and the commitment that the council made, remains in the forefront of any plans for Arbour Vale.

The red card protest will be repeated when Slough Town host Chesham United on Bank Holiday Monday, and at subsequent home matches.

The cards will also continue to be mailed to local councillors.
