SLOUGH Town star Warren Harris is set to find out the extent of his knee injury this week.

Harris had a stand-out season for The Rebels last year, despite playing for most of the campaign with a groin complaint.

He swept the board at the end of season awards, with Players’, Player, Supporters and MYFC Player of the Year awards.

He finished the season with 18 league goals, a great return from right midfield, as Slough ended their long wait for promotion into the Southern Premier.

Many believed Harris has the scope to keep on improving, but an injury suffered in pre-season threatens to de-rail the star.

He limped out of Rebels’ 4-1 friendly defeat at Windsor back in July and has not featured for the club since.

Scans have revealed that Harris may have damage to he cruciate knee ligament, sparking fears he may need re-constructive surgery and miss the entire season.

Slough Town joint-boss Jon Underwood told the Observer: “If he needs re-construction of the cruciate ligament, then you are looking at nine months out.

“But, the knee may not be fully damaged and keyhole surgery might resolve the problem.

“It’s either going to be around Christmas and New Year, or the whole season with Warren.” Harris is due to meet with a surgeon at Fulham FC next Wednesday, where he hopes to find out the full extent of the injury.

Elsewhere, Underwood had positive news on Adam Foulser, who suffered a similar injury last season.

He said: “Adam is doing a lot of strength work, which you have to do in order to build the knee back up.

“He has been told ball work is probably a month away, so then we will see how we can get him where he needs to be.

“He is still on course for a return to action in November.” **PICK up a copy of the Observer, out every Friday, for all the latest sports news and action** **FOLLOW the Observer on Twitter at @Observer_sports**
