SLOUGH Town FC have confirmed star man Warren Harris will not play again this season through injury.

Harris met with a surgeon at Fulham FC on Wednesday, when it was confirmed he has ruptured his anterior cruciate liagment.

It is the same injury that Adam Foulser suffered last season and was inflicted in Rebels’ friendly at Windsor back in July.

Harris will now undergo a full reconstruction of the knee and will not play football again until next summer.

Slough Town joint-boss Neil Baker said: “There’s no glossing over that it’s a serious injury. My thoughts are with Warren.

“However, he can use Adam as an example of what needs to be done as he is getting stronger now and will soon be joining in with full training.

“Getting two of these injuries in under six months is real bad luck.

“In my career, I’ve only played with three people that had to have this operation.” Baker added: “To lose a winger who scored almost 20 goals last season and was a stand-out winner at the end-of-season awards, is very hard to take.

“However, as a management team we will need to adapt but, at the same time, look forward to ‘Wazza’s’ return next season.” The injury is a huge blow to Rebels’ season, but also to Harris who, like Foulser, works as a self-employed electrican.

He is likely to miss at least three weeks of work as a result of the injury.

Slough Town will now do its utmost to help raise funds to limit the financial cost of the injury.
