IVER FC player-manager John Swift insists his side can win the East Berkshire Premier Division this season.

Swift says there are positives to take from the 2-2 opening day draw with rivals Iver Heath Rovers, where Iver twice came from behind.

And, speaking ahead of a visit to Slough Heating this Saturday, he has described the Premier Division as their ‘bread and butter’.

He said: “We dominated the game in terms of chances against a very good Iver Heath side.

“We were disappointed not to get all three points, but their goalkeeper had the best game of his life saving chances we would normally bury.” Swift added: “ We are definitely not here to make up the numbers. We want a top-two finish at the very least and should be challenging for the title. As long as we can keep the squad together, I think we should win the league.

“That’s our bread and butter, and I will take it over any of the cups.” Iver are expected to include Will Dunlop and Ryan Edwards for the match at Slough Heating, but Kevin Swift and Ben Ryan are injured.
