THE Pin FC boss Nick Hancox admits that his side deserved to be beaten by Old Windsor on Saturday.

The Farnham Park outfit saw their unbeaten start in East Berks’ Division One ended after a 5-1 thrashing at the Recreation Ground.

Hancox told the Observer that his side did not turn up against Old Windsor. He bemoaned: “It was just an off day hopefully.

“It wasn’t much of a football pitch to be honest, it was more of a rugby field. But I’ve been over there enough times to know what it’s about and we deserved to get beat.

“Lots of teams are more organised than us at the moment but we need a response.” The defeat sees The Pin slip to third position in the table ahead of a visit to leaders Barley Mow tomorrow (Saturday, 2pm ko).

Hancox commented: “We’ve let Barley Mow back into it but we always look forward to the big games. We know some of their players so it will be a good game. Hopefully we can do a job on them this week.

“We will just see how it goes in our first season and see where we end up.” **PICK up a copy of the Observer, out now, for all the latest sports news and action including pictures from Old Windsor versus The Pin** **FOLLOW the Observer on Twitter at @Observer_sports**
