ED SMITH claimed a hat-trick as Slough Town FC blew away Southern Premier Division leaders Weymouth 3-0 on Saturday.

Slough handed Adam Martin a third debut for the club and new keeper Luke Williams made his first appearance between the posts.

Weymouth brought in Exeter City duo Connor Riley-Lowe and Jamie Reid, as well as Calvin Brooks from Yeovil Town.

However, it was The Rebels who made the best possible start as Smith gave them the lead after just 19 seconds.

The striker looped a header across Weymouth player-manager Jason Matthews and into the far corner of the goal.

The visitors seemed stunned and never got a foothold in the game with Smith claiming a second goal on 12 minutes.

Smith did well to get his head to a cross from Jake Parsons and divert it towards the goal.

Weymouth defender Jamie Laird headed the ball into his own net as he climbed with Smith, though the striker claimed the goal.

The visitors’ day went from bad to worse as Smith completed his hat-trick in the 36th minute.

Smith got to a Guy Hollis pass before Matthews and stretched to loft a wonderful finish over him and into the far corner.
