SLOUGH RFC recorded only their third win of the Southern Counties North season with a narrow 15-12 victory over Wallingford on Saturday.
The win at Upton Court Park ended a run of three straight defeats for Paul Rendall's struggling side who continue to hold slim chances of improving upon their second from bottom position with just four games remaining.
Phoenix RFC boosted their chances of avoiding relegation from the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier Division with a 25-24 win against Stow-on-the-Wold at Institute Road.
The victory, Phoenix's first league success of the campaign, moves them to within four points of safety, although they have played at least one game more than the sides around them.
Maidenhead RFC remain top of South West One East after cruising to a 71-5 win against basement boys Olney at Braywick Park.
Ricky Khan's men have a four point lead at the top of the table with just six games remaining this season.
