NIGEL Levine insists everything is right on track for the World Championships after a high-profile return to the Olympic Stadium.

Levine clocked his third fastest 400 metre (m) time of the season when he recorded 45.58 seconds (secs) to finish sixth at the sold-out Sainsbury's Anniversary Games.

And the Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow Athletics Club star is ready to get quicker as he targets an appearance at the fast approaching World Championships in Moscow.

Levine, who is coached by former Olympic champion Linford Christie, finished sixth in his Olympic semi-final last year but went quicker last weekend to underline his form.

"It was pretty tough out there, but the crowd was immense and you don't turn down the chance to compete in an atmosphere like that," said Levine.

"I just wanted to lay down a good time because everything is about Moscow. I'm in a big training block and that's my sole focus at the moment.

"It's good to get into another quality race and that's my quickest time in a Diamond League event this summer, which shows progress." Levine is the sole British athlete to qualify for the individual 400m in Moscow, but he still has high hopes for the 4x400m relay where he could be joined by any of Michael Bingham, Jamie Bowie, Luke Lennon Ford, Martyn Rooney, Conrad Williams and Delano Williams.

Twelve months ago Levine ran in the relay heats at the Olympics but sat out of the final where the British team finished fourth, just 0.13secs off bronze.

"We're looking forward to getting out on our training camp and really starting to look at the relay," he added.

"I'm in the same training group as a couple of the guys and they're looking good. We've got a great record in the event so we're going there with high hopes."
