SLOUGH have suffered a first defeat in three matches in the BBO Premier this season after a 31-18 loss away at Alchester on Saturday.

The Greenies had been in good end-of-season form with victories over Abingdon and Chipping Norton, but they were undone in Oxfordshire.

The result leaves Slough in 10th place in the table ahead of their final match of the season at home to Chesham this Saturday (3pm).

Phoenix continued their BBO Championship winning season with a 36-5 win away at Harwell.

The champions led 17-5 at half-time as Jason Townsend touched down twice with Tom Pell adding a third try. Nigel Coltman booted one of his three conversion attempts.

Townsend and Pell added to their own match tallies in the second-half with Bradley Coomber scoring the team’s sixth try in the win.

Phoenix, now 16 points clear of the rest of the pack, finish their season with a visit from Didcot this Saturday.

Farnham Royal were without a fixture in the Championship last weekend and bring the curtain down on their campaign at home to Harwell on April 30.

Drifters have a mountain to climb in order to avoid relegation from Southern Counties North this season after a 32-13 defeat at Wallingford on Saturday.

The club, still second from bottom in the table, must claim a maximum points win and hope Thatcham fail to secure a single point, as well as overturn a points difference of 50 with Thatcham on the final day of the season this Saturday.

Drifters are away at county rivals Marlow whilst Thatcham are at home to fourth-placed Bicester.
