WINDSOR Dames brought the curtain down on their 2016 with a 25-20 win against Reading Ladies at Home Park on Saturday.
The Dames have received coaching from England and Bristol Ladies star Katie Mason in recent weeks, which has coincided with a fifth consecutive win in the Women's South East West One.
Their latest Berkshire derby success keeps them third in the league table with 2017 set to begin with a visit from top of the table Reading Abbey on Sunday January 8.
Maidenhead have gone level on points with South West One East leaders Old Patesians with a 38-22 win over Reading Abbey on Saturday.
Maidenhead led 21-16 at the half-time interval with tries from Ross Lewis, Lewis Jones and Ed Keohane. Tom Finnie booted all three of his conversion attempts.
In the second period, Finnie was able to convert a penalty try before Lewis touched down twice more to complete his hat-trick on debut.
Keohane took over kicking duties but could not add the extras.
Maidenhead travel to Swindon this Saturday (2.15pm) while Windsor host Grove following their 14-14 draw away at Banbury last weekend.
Banbury led 14-0 at the break but Windsor recovered for a share of the spoils.
Drifters lost ground in the race for the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier title after a 16-16 home draw with Didcot on Saturday.
Slough moved up to fifth place in the league table following their 53-5 win against Abingdon at Tamblyn Fields.
The Greenies travel to Swindon College Old Boys on Saturday.
