SLOUGH saw their winning streak in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier come to an end on Saturday after a 82-7 defeat at Swindon College Old Boys.

The Greenies had won their last three matches, including the Bucks Bowl final against rivals Drifters, but they were no match for league leaders Swindon.

Tom Young managed the only Slough try with Max Miles booting the extra two points.

The defeat means Slough sit eighth in the league table heading into the Christmas break.

The Greenies return to action on Saturday January 14 when Crowthorne are the visitors to Tamblyn Fields (2.15pm).

Drifters remain second in the table following their 23-6 win at Tadley on Saturday - their first victory in three matches.

Olly Ashton bagged a hat-trick of tries while Sam James also touched down in the win.

Drifters make the short journey to rival club Phoenix when the season resumes on January 14.

Phoenix suffered their second points-to-nil defeat this season when losing 44-0 at Berkshire rivals Crowthorne on Saturday.

The loss means they remain second from bottom in the league table with just one win so far this season.

In the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Championship, Farnham Royal were beaten 62-0 at home by Oxford in their first points-to-nil loss of the campaign.

The Royals will try to climb off the foot of the table in the New Year, starting with a visit to Wheatley on January 14.
