MAIDENHEAD have regained the winning thread in South West One East after a 47-26 victory against Witney at Braywick Park on Saturday.

Scott Prince touched down twice in the first half with Lewis Jones also crossing the whitewash.

Tom Finnie took two of the three conversions to give Maidenhead an early 19-0 lead, but the scores were level at 19-19 at the half-time interval.

The home side secured the win after the break with tries from Finnie, Mark Childerhouse, Murray Barratt and Will Macaulay. Finnie kicked all four conversions in the second half.

The win keeps Maidenhead second in the league table ahead of a visit to Braywick Park from Newbury Blues this Saturday.

Windsor stand 11th in the table after a 41-5 defeat at second bottom Oxford Harlequins last weekend. Windsor host bottom of the table Reading on Saturday.

Windsor Dames made it back-to-back wins in the women’s South West One East following their 32-10 victory away at Rosslyn Park on Sunday. The Dames remain third in the table.

In the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier, Slough moved up to fourth place with a 33-13 win at Hungerford on Saturday.

Tries were scored by Ben Ambrose, Joe Sole, Rob King, Aman Grewal and Max Miles, who also booted four conversions.

The Greenies welcome rivals and second from bottom Phoenix to Tamblyn Fields on Saturday.

Phoenix recorded only their second win of the season when beating bottom of the table Risborough 18-14 at Institute Road.
