Jason Townsend scoring the first try.
AN AWESOME display from Phoenix saw them run riot in the second half and beat Stow-on-the-Wold 41-6 at Institute Road.
The hosts were quickly on the attack and the back row of Ian Watkinson, Rob Mitchell and James Richardson dominated in the loose but despite all their dominace trailed 6-3 at the break with a Chris Laidlaw penalty sandwiched in between two from Stow.
A flying start was made by the hosts in the second half with two quick tries by winger Jason Townsend to give them a 15-6 lead.
Stow missed a simple penalty but Phoenix continued to have the better of things with Laidlaw providing Adam McMillan with a certain try but the ball was spilled.
However, within seconds the ball was moved right and Dave McMillan showed his brother how it was done by taking a return pass from centre Simon Rodwell to increase the lead.
Duncan Wardle crashed over and fly-half Dan Simmonds kept Stow inside their own 22 and Richardson broke through before popping a pass to Dave McMillan to score his second try.
The visitors attacked but Townsend intercepted and ran three-quarters of the length of the pitch to score and secure a 41-6 win.
