The 26-year-old, who had a previous spell with the Jets in 2009/10, will join the English Premier Ice Hockey League line-up alongside Andrej Vasiljevic, allowing Danny Milton to start games regularly in the National Ice Hockey League team.

Myers has been with Devils for the past four seasons and Jets boss Craig Moran was delighted to bring him back to The Hangar.

“I’m really pleased to have been able to pull of this latest signing. I was surprised to see him released but from a Slough Jets point of view certainly not unhappy," he commented.

"I immediately spoke with Danny and Joe to outline my plans for the club’s netminding and Joe was happy to come and join us.

"He has played the majority of his career in the Elite League, has been around some of the very best netminders and has always played well himself when he’s had the chance.

"Danny is a great prospect in goal but I know that for him to achieve his potential he needs to get regular ice time to finish his development.

"He has shown me great talent and skills but I know that at this point in time I cannot offer him the ice time he needs in the EPL team to continue to develop those. I’ve managed to arrange for Danny to complete this season in the NIHL team where he will start games and play the full 60 minutes and I think this will accelerate his development greatly." New signing Myers said: “I'm very grateful that after speaking to Craig we agreed on a deal for me to get back on the ice in a Jets jersey.

"I've always followed the team since I had the pleasure of playing for the play-off winning side in 2009.

"The fans I got to know during my previous spell were great and it will be nice to catch up with some old friends. I know this has been a tough season to date, but I hope that I can help in any way possible to turning things around and securing a play-off spot and then who knows. I'm looking forward to meeting up with the guys and getting right into action this weekend."
