IT HAS been another sporting year to remember in the boroughs of Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead.

And yet again the Observer’s team of photographers have been there to capture every memorable moment.

From football fields to tennis courts; bowling greens to cricket wickets; from start lines to the finish line, it has all been covered in our pages throughout 2014.

Hitting most of the headlines was Slough Town FC as they swapped Division One Central for the Premier Division.

The New Year also promises plenty for The Rebels after planning application for a new stadium was submitted in December.

The other Southern League club, Burnham FC, have not had the best of years having changed managers three times.

While there has not been any trophies for The Blues, there has been plenty of silverware elsewhere.

Windsor FC lifted the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy, whilst The Lynchpin completed the East Berks’ Premier Division and Slough Town Cup double.

Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow Athletics Club star Morgan Lake won two gold medals at the World Junior Championships.

Robin Haase filled his trophy cabinet when winning The Boodles, and the summer also saw stars out on pristine cricket wickets.

Cookham Dean and Stoke Green established themselves as two of the top clubs in the area with Thames Valley League title glory.

Datchet were also awarded a shock promotion into the Home Counties Premier Cricket League.

There was also something in the water for Slough Jets, who celebrated 28 years as a professional club with a charity legends match.

There have also been the traditional annual events, like the Windsor Half Marathon and Slough Rugby Sevens, to complement the weekly helpings of amateur football, rugby and numerous other sports.
