WARREN Harris marked his 100th appearance for Slough Town with a goal and a win as the Rebels beat Chipstead 6-1 in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Harris, 25, joined Slough in June 2013 and the right winger has scored 25 goals in 100 games for the club, including 18 in a standout first season.

He scored the third of the Rebels’ six goals as they easily won a first-ever FA Cup match in their new Arbour Park home.

“It was a good day and a good win for the club,” Harris told the Slough Midweek Observer. “I’m just happy that we won and progressed on to the next round.

“We’re better when we get the ball down and play. In the second-half we got more time on the ball and we moved it about quicker. It was a comfortable win.

“The stadium is good and I can’t wait until it’s finished completely, and hopefully we will have a good season.

“It was nice to get 100 appearances, and to get a goal with it as well, but more importantly it’s better to get the win and just move on.”

Slough took the lead inside two minutes when a long Guy Hollis throw was headed on and Charlie Moone found enough room at the back post to head the ball down into the bottom corner.

Moone doubled the advantage after half an hour as the Chipstead defence parted like the Red Sea.

The Rebels striker took-up the invitation and drove the ball low past Sheik Ceesay from inside the box.

Harris made it 3-0 in the 34th minute. Ceesay did well to save a Moone header but the loose ball fell to Harris and he applied the finish at the back post.

Into the second-half and James Dobson made it four when the ball broke to him just inside the box and he fired past Ceesay with his left foot on 66 minutes.

Chipstead were gifted a consolation goal as Dobson turned the ball into his own net in the 77th minute.

The ball was crossed in from the left and the Rebels midfielder could not shuffle his feet in time, poking past Mark Scott.

The goals kept on coming for Slough after Lee Barney made it 5-1 on 80 minutes.

Daniel Hicks played a through ball into Barney, who beat Ceesay to the ball, rounded the keeper and rolled into an empty net from an awkward angle.

Barney completed the scoring with his second of the tie with just minutes left on the clock.

The ball was played into Josh Jackman but it got stuck under his feet and squirted out to Barney, who could not miss from a yard out.

Slough return to Southern Premier Division action with a visit to Redditch United this Saturday (3pm), followed by a trip to Weymouth next Tuesday (7.45pm).
