SLOUGH TOWN are set for a return to action in the Southern Premier Division this week and Jon Underwood has targeted six points at Arbour Park.

The Rebels host Dunstable Town this Saturday (3pm) before Hitchin Town make the journey next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Fresh from a 3-1 win at Berkhamsted in the FA Cup last weekend, Underwood is hoping for maximum points to keep pace with the early league leaders.

The Slough joint-manager told the Observer: “We’re very much targeting six points. We have to in order not to conceded ground at the top as there are some sides that have won every game.

“Dunstable have struggled a little bit to start with, they’ve only got one point so far, and they’re a young team, so it’s one that everyone will be expecting us to win.

“Hitchin is always a tough game, they beat us at our place last year and reached the play-off final.

“They’ve lost a few players and not got going yet this season, but there’s a little bit of a rivalry between us because we’re two sides that have been towards the top for a while in this division.

“It would be a big result to kick start them a little bit if they were to come and beat us.

“It will be a competitive game, it always is against them, but we would love to first get the three points on Saturday and take that into Tuesday night”

The Rebels’ reward for their victory in the FA Cup is a home draw in the second qualifying round against Dulwich Hamlet on September 16 (3pm).

Underwood commented: “We’ve got a tough draw in the next round. We remember them from our Godalming Town days and know how they like to play.

"We will have a few reports on them and it will be a good game. They like to play football and are well supported, so it will be a really good cup tie.

“It will be tough for them to come to Arbour Park because we’re confident and in good form there.”
