SLOUGH Town return to action in the Southern Premier Division on Saturday and Jon Underwood admits he would take four points from back-to-back away matches.

The Rebels extended their winning run to eight games with a 3-2 home victory over Dulwich Hamlet in the FA Cup last weekend.

Slough lost top spot in the league table to Tiverton Town in midweek but could regain the lead with a win at St Neots Town this Saturday (3pm), before a trip to Redditch United next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Underwood, pictured right, believes the two matches will offer a different challenge but he knows it is important to keep on compiling points to remain competitive at the top end in the table.

The joint-manager told the Observer: “St Neots are probably one of the sides in this league that raise their game against the top teams so it’s going to be really competitive.

“We had a really tough game there last year. They have a nice pitch and ground so it’s a good fixture to look forward to.

“Redditch is a match on another 3G pitch. We had a good win there last year [0-4] but they’ve made a good start to the season.

“Four points from any two away games is a good return so if you offered it now we would be happy with it. But, we will aim to win both because it’s a very competitive league at the top at the moment.”

Underwood added: “Fitness-wise we’re looking good at the moment and the struggle has been to keep everyone happy, so we will use the whole squad in both matches.

“We’ve been rotating the squad and it seems to be working for us this season.”
