SLOUGH Town recorded back-to-back away wins in the Southern Premier Division after a 4-1 victory at Basingstoke Town on Saturday.

The Rebels had not recorded consecutive league wins on the road since October but are now unbeaten in three matches and remain in fifth position in the table.

A goal from Sam Smart gave Basingstoke the lead inside 60 seconds at The Camrose, where they had not been beaten in their last nine previous league games.

Slough striker Ben Harris levelled the scores with his sixth goal of the season just five minutes later, and The Rebels took a lead into the half-time interval thanks to a goal from George Wells a minute into time added on.

Manny Williams extended the advantage with his second goal in as many matches nine minutes after the restart, before midfielder Simon Dunn secured all three points with his sixth goal of the season two minutes into injury time.

The win keeps Slough in fifth position in the league table and eight points above Tiverton Town in sixth place ahead of a trip to promotion rivals Weymouth on Tuesday (7.45pm).

The Rebels are away at Dunstable Town on Good Friday before returning to Arbour Park for the visit of Chesham United on Easter Monday.

Chalvey Sports have lost ground in the race for the Hellenic League Division Two East title after being held to a 2-2 draw away at Virginia Water Reserves on Saturday.

The first half at The Timbers ended goalless and The Waters broke the deadlock after the restart before Chalvey equalised through captain Ryan Hazell.

A goal from Bryan Taylor then gave The Stabmonks the lead, but Virginia Water levelled the scores from the penalty spot just before the final whistle.

The point means Chalvey move up one place to second position in the league table and now five points behind Abingdon United Development but with two games in hand on the leaders.

The Stabmonks visit third-from-bottom Chinnor Reserves on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Chalvey then turn their attention to the Slough Town Senior Cup final against East Berkshire Premier Division club Langley at The Gore on Good Friday (10.30am).
